About the Journal

TAXIS: Journal of Taxation and Public Policy (TJPKP) is a scholarly journal published by the Faculty of Economics and Business at Muhammadiyah University Prof. DR. HAMKA (FEB UHAMKA) that focuses on taxation studies and their relationship to public policy and development.  TAXIS serves as an academic forum to discuss strategic tax issues in national, regional, and global contexts. The scope of TAXIS includes, but is not limited to, tax policy and administration, taxpayer compliance and behavior, local and national taxes, tax reform, and the role of taxes in sustainable development, including green taxes, carbon taxes, and fiscal justice. This journal is open to academics, researchers, practitioners, and policymakers with an interest in taxation and public policy issues.

TAXIS is published biannually, in April and October, with eight scholarly articles in each issue. All published articles have undergone a peer-review process to ensure scientific quality, originality, and contribution to the development of tax policy. In addition to empirical research articles—whether quantitative, qualitative, or using mixed methods— TAXIS also accepts systematic literature reviews, bibliometric studies, and policy analysis articles that identify strategic issues, policy gaps, and emerging issues in the tax system and public policy. TAXIS aims to serve as an academic platform supporting the development of fair, effective, and sustainable tax policies.
